The digital economy has occupied an important position in China's economic growth, and it has had a significant impact on
China's macro social life, and in terms of the behavior of micro subjects, it has also been an important part of Chinese people's lifestyle. In this paper, the consumption expenditure ratio of Tibetan residents in agricultural and pastoral areas from 2011 to 2020 is selected as a lifestyle indicator, on the basis of which the principal component analysis is applied to construct digital economy indicators, which are used as explanatory variables for mediating effect analysis, and finally the Bootstrap method is applied to authenticate the mediating variables. The effect mechanism of digital economy is analyzed to reveal the impact of digital development on the lifestyles of residents in agricultural and pastoral areas The results indicate that digital economy development has a significant impact on the lifestyle of farming and herding residents, and that farming and herding college students play a partially mediating role in the process of digital economy development's effect on the lifestyle of farming and herding residents.
