<p class="Abstract">Urban development and global climate change drive increased Land Surface Temperature (LST). Wonogiri Regency is an area that is within the development range of Surakarta City. Analysis of land surface temperature has become Important in Wonogiri Regency as a mitigation measure for urban heat islands. This study aims to measure Land Surface Temperature (LST) in Wonogiri Regency and determine the controlling factor in the form of Land Use Land Cover (LULC), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), seasons, and zones by landform. Using the Google Earth Engine platform, LST calculations, LULC classifications, and NDVI calculations can compute imagery. The dataset used is USGS Landsat 8. The analytical technique used in this study is comparative descriptive, which compares other controlling factors. The analysis results show the vital role of LULC, NDVI, seasonality, and landform on LST. LULC types of built-up land, low NDVI values, dry season, and southern zone (karst) tend to have higher LST than other factors.</p>

Urban heat island is one of the events where the temperature in the metropolitan area is warmer than the surrounding area. Indonesia is located in a tropical climate making several cities potentially increase in temperature during the dry season. As a representative, the City of Pekanbaru is one of the cities with infrastructure growth that is fast including on the island of Sumatra. Population growth and high enthusiastic of residents to find work in the city made land on the edge of the city built up. This makes the green space less and less with the uneven distribution of green space in the city of Pekanbaru. The number of buildings that exist makes the temperature rise in urban areas with an initial temperature of 29oC to 36oC. temperature increases occurred throughout the year with the hottest peaks of temperatures reaching 37oC on April 15, 2013. Whereas in 2009 there was a decrease in temperature with levels ranging from 27oC. This makes the city of Pekanbaru one of the hottest cities in Indonesia. This study uses Landsat 5 imagery for 2000 and 2009, and Landsat 8 for 2018 with the Land Surface Temperature (LST) method and Normalized Difference Built-up Index (NDBI) which are useful to explain the urban heat island distribution (UHI) in Pekanbaru City

The Majalengka Regency considering by The Government of West Java Province is one of the priorities of infrastructure development to sustain the accelerate of development. The conversion function of agricultural land into non-agricultural or industrial will affect land surface temperature, which triggers the urban heat island phenomenon. The purpose of this study was to analyze the spatial and temporal distribution of urban heat island and the assosiation of land cover, building density, and vegetation greenness with land surface temperatures in Majalengka in 2013, 2016, and 2019. Variables used in this study were land cover, vegetation greenness, building density, and land surface temperature obtained from the processing of Landsat Image 8 are validating survey at 98 points selected by random sampling method. The results showed that the phenomenon of urban heat island dominates the north to the Majalengka Regency. The Areas with low land surface temperatures are found in areas with land cover in the form of built land, low greenness, and high building density. The southern of Majalengka Regency of the land surface temperature is getting lower with vegetation land cover, high vegetation greenness, and low building density. Low land surface temperature is associated with high vegetation greenness and low building density while the highest surface temperature is associated with built-up area with high building density. The difference in temperature between 2013-2019 is around 6°C with a reduction in vegetation area around 109 km2.
