Reports have shown that there has been a continuous annual increase in the number of traffic accidents in Indonesia. Parepare City, in particular, faces significant congestion in its public transportation system, leading to 167 cases and 144 cases of accidents in 2019 and 2020, respectively. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of knowledge, attitude, personality, and safety riding practice on traffic accidents among transportation workers in Parepare City. This cross-sectional study comprised 100 respondents selected using the simple random sampling method. The study instrument was a questionnaire, which had previously been tested for its validity and reliability. The data obtained were analyzed using univariate analysis to describe the characteristics of each variable. In contrast, bivariate analysis was conducted using the chi-square test with a confidence level of 95%. Data were collected through interviews with a questionnaire and analyzed using multiple logistic regression with the forward LR method. The results showed that attitude and safety riding practice had a significant influence. Multivariate analysis showed that factors influencing accidents included attitude (AOR = 0.031; 95%CI = 0.45-0.26), practice (AOR = 0.108; 95%CI = 0.03-0.38), and knowledge (AOR = 0.337; 95%CI = 0.13-0.88), while personality had no effect. Based on the results, future studies were advised to conduct long-term investigations (longitudinal studies) to monitor changes in the variables observed and the relationship with the rate of traffic accidents.

Introduction:The number of vehicles in Indonesia has increased every year. The number of two-wheeled vehicles in 2016 was 105.150.082 units and increased to 111.988.863 in 2017 and 120.101.047 in 2018. Unfortunately, along with the increase in motorized vehicle users, the rate of traffic accidents that occurred also increased. One of the causes of the high number of traffic accidents in Indonesia is a large number of jobs in the transportation sector, such as online motorcycle taxis. This study aims to identify the factors that cause traffic accidents, including those caused by fatigue, negligence, knowledge of safety riding, and length of work for online motorcycle taxi drivers.Methods: This study is an analytic observational study with a cross-sectional design. The study population consisted of 110 online motorcycle taxi riders who are members of the Sidoarjo-Porong Online Driver Association Basecamp. Sampling was done by using the total sampling technique. The variables studied included subjective fatigue, negligence, knowledge of safety riding, length of work, and two-wheeled online motorcycle taxi traffic accidents. Data analysis was performed using Cramer's V Correlation Coefficient or Phi Correlation Coefficient. Results:The results showed a significant correlation between subjective fatigue and the incidence of accidents as indicated by a value of r = 0.289. Furthermore, it was found that a weak correlation between negligence and the incidence of accidents with a value of r = 0.211. No correlation was found between knowledge of safe riding and the incidence of accidents marked with a value of r = -0.169. Meanwhile, there is only a weak correlation between the length of work and the incidence of accidents with a value of r = 0.214. Conclusion:Subjective fatigue, neglect, length of work has a correlation with two-wheeled online motorcycle taxi traffic accidents. There is no correlation between knowledge of safety riding with two-wheeled online motorcycle taxi traffic accidents.

Traffic accidents are the biggest cause of injury. Two of the three main causes of death are injuries from traffic accidents, which are expected to increase further than other causes of death. The number of injuries caused by riding in Kebumen District from 2014 to 2016 involves mainly motorcycles, occurring in the 15-30 year age group, with private and student status that did not possess any driving license. This study determines factors related to the incidence of injury on motorcyclist students of 1 State Vocational High School Puring, Kebumen District academic year 2016/2017 based on host factors, agent factors, and environmental factors. This study was a cross-sectional design with a random sampling technique on 313 motorcyclists. Questionnaires disseminated as the data collection. The analysis was either univariate or bivariate with a significance level p-value<0.05. Drivers were dominantly male. Most occupation of the parents was farmers. The majority of motorists never participate in any safe driving socialization, and the average age was 11 years old when they started to ride a motorcycle. The average mileage per day was 11 km. Bivariate analysis results no correlation among sex, parental occupation, age of first started to ride a motorcycle, use of personal protective equipment, the safe driving socialization, the vehicle feasibility, the driving license ownership, and parental support for safe driving with the incidence of injury. There was a relationship between distance to school, knowledge of safe driving, and friend's motivation to safe driving with injuries. Abstrak Kecelakaan lalu lintas merupakan penyebab cedera terbesar. Salah satu penyebab utama kematian adalah cedera akibat kecelakaan lalu lintas, yang diperkirakan terus meningkat dibandingkan dengan penyebab kematian lain. Jumlah kejadian cedera akibat berkendara di Kabupaten Kebumen tahun 2014−2016, banyak melibatkan kendaraan sepeda motor dengan pengendara usia 15−30 tahun, berstatus swasta, pelajar serta tidak memiliki SIM. Studi ini mengidentifikasi faktor yang berhubungan dengan kejadian cedera pada pengendara sepeda motor siswa SMK Negeri 1 Puring Kabupaten Kebumen tahun ajaran 2016/2017 berdasarkan host, agent dan environment factors. Penelitian menggunakan desain potong lintang. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan random sample pada 313 pengendara sepeda motor. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data dilakukan dengan univariat dan bivariatengan tingkat signifikansi p-value < 0.05. Terdapat pengendara terbanyak usia 16 tahun sejumlah 145 pengendara, pengendara yang berusia 17˗21 tahun sejumlah 129 pengendara, didominasi laki-laki dan pekerjaan orangtua petani. Mayoritas pengendara tidak mengikuti sosialisasi berkendara yang aman. Sejak usia 11 tahun mereka mulai aktif mengemudikan sepeda motor dengan Jarak tempuh 11 km perhari. Hasil analisis bivariabel menunjukkan tidak ada keterkaitan antara usia, jenis kelamin, pekerjaan orangtua, usia awal pengendara sepeda motor mulai aktif mengemudikan sepeda motor, penggunaan alat pelindung diri, sosialisasi berkendara yang aman, kepemilikan SIM C, faktor kelayakan kendaraan dan dukungan orangtua dalam berkendara yang aman dengan kejadian cedera. Terdapat hubungan antara jarak tempat tinggal dengan sekolah, pengetahuan tentang berkendara yang aman dan dukungan teman dalam berkendara yang aman dengan kejadian cedera. Dukungan teman sebaya menjadi faktor paling dominan menentukan terjadinya cedera. Siswa yang tanpa dukungan berkendara aman memiliki risiko cedera. Maka, sosialisasi berkendara oleh pihak kepolisian dan kolaborasi dengan sekolah menjadi hal yang wajib untuk siswa berkendara aman dan selamat di jalan.
