Background: Nutritional status is closely related to high cholesterol levels. High cholesterol levels as a trigger for other metabolic diseases. Fruits high in fiber and vitamin C can be used to keep blood cholesterol levels regularly. Aim:To determine the effect of red dragon fruit on blood cholesterol levels in people with excessive nutritional status. Methods:Research used an experimental approach with a pretest and post-test control group design. The sample consisted of 2 groups, namely the control group and the intervention group, with 50 respondents in each group. The sample was taken using purposive sampling. The intervention group got red dragon fruit juice for seven days. Blood cholesterol levels are measured by laboratory tested using intravenous blood. The statistical test used the Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test. Results:The difference mean posttest-pretest control group and intervention groups were 13.56 mmHg and -13.06 mmHg. The analysis of pretest-posttest blood cholesterol levels among the control and intervention groups were p=0.514 and p=0.035. The difference between the control group and the intervention group was 0.022. Conclusion:Red dragon fruit is effective in reducing blood cholesterol levels in people with excessive nutritional status.

Abstrak. Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) merupakan parameter yang digunakan untuk menilai komposisi tubuh dengan menggunakan klasifikasi Asia Pasifik. IMT menjadi salah satu faktor risiko terjadinya osteoartritis lutut. Osteoartritis lutut merupakan penyakit degeneratif yang terjadi pada sendi lutut. Berdasarkan RISKESDAS tahun 2018, Provinsi Aceh menduduki peringkat pertama sebagai provinsi dengan angka penyakit sendi terbanyak yang termasuk osteoartritis lutut yaitu 13.3%. Prevalensi indeks massa tubuh berlebih di Indonesia pada tahun 2018 meningkat dari 26.3% menjadi 34.4% sehingga kemungkinan terjadinya osteoartritis lutut juga meningkat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode observasional analitik dengan desain cross-sectional dilakukan dengan cara mengukur berat badan dan tinggi badan responden yang memenuhi kriteria penelitian berdasarkan pedoman American College of Rheumatology (ACR). Sampel dikumpulkan berdasarkan rekam medis di Rumah Sakit Umum Zainoel Abidin kota Banda Aceh sejak september hingga oktober 2019 yang melibatkan tujuh puluh responden sebagai sampel penelitian yang dimana 51 responden (72.9%) memiliki indeks massa tubuh berlebih dan 43 responden (61.4%) didiagnosis dengan Osteoartritis lutut. Berdasarkan hasil analisis uji Chi Square, nilai p value yang diperoleh adalah 0.021 (p value ≤ 0,05). Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan antara indeks massa tubuh dengan kejadian osteoartritis lutut di Rumah Sakit Umum Zainoel Abidin di kota Banda Aceh.Kata Kunci: Indeks massa tubuh; berat badan lebih, osteoartritis lutut; Abstract. Body Mass Index (BMI) is a parameter to measure body composition which is classified into underweight, normal and overweight. Overweight has been known to potentially cause knee osteoarthritis. Knee osteoarthritis is a degenerative disease happening on the knee. Based on RISKESDAS 2018, Aceh led Indonesia as a province with the highest number of knee arthritis (13.3%). In the same year, the prevalence of overweight in Indonesia has also increased from 26.3% to 34.4% and is expected to rise annually. This research is an analytic observational using cross sectional design. The method used in this research is body weight and body length measurement of samples fulfilling the criteria based on American College of Rheumatology (ACR). Data were collected based on medicalr record at Zainoel Abidin General Hospital, Banda Aceh, from September to October 2019. We examined 70 respondents, 51 of them (72.9%) had overweight IMT and 43 of them (61.4%) were diagnosed with knee osteoarthritis. Chi Square analysis showed p value 0,021 (p value ≤ 0.05). Abstract. Osteoarthritis One of the most common joint problems in the elderly is knee pain. At this time, a person's life expectancy is quite high, but a life expectancy that is not balanced with health will reduce the quality of life. One of the risk factors for osteoarthritis most associated with obesity. Excess body weight will increase the burden on the knee joint. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between obesity and the incidence of osteoarthritis knee in the elderly. This research is a scoping review. The databases used are PubMed, Springer Link, and Science Direct. Articles that meet the inclusion criteria from journals' full text, English, cohort or case control. There are 1,224 articles that meet the inclusion criteria are 1,224, and those that are included in the exclusion criteria are 1,219 articles. After a critical review, there were 5 articles that passed. The results of the analysis of article 5, stating that there is a relationship of obesity and osteoarthritis, show that knee with osteoarthritis have a higher BMI, and picture radiology Images reveal a more meaningful relationship in the obese, and obesity is associated with the severity of osteoarthritis of the knee. This was assessed by radiographic classification of osteoarthritis Ahlback. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between obesity and the incidence of osteoarthritis knee in the elderly, while normal weight is not associated with osteoarthritis knee in the elderly. And obesity can worsen the radiographic results of osteoarthritis in the elderly. Abstrak. Osteoarthritis lutut merupakan salah satu masalah persendian pada lansia. Pada saat ini usia harapan hidup seseorang cukup tinggi, tetapi harapan hidup yang tidak diimbangi dengan kesehatan maka akan menurunkan kualitas hidup. Salah satu faktor risiko osteoarthritis lutut yang paling berkontribusi ialah obesitas. Berat badan yang berlebih, akan memperberat beban sendi lutut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis hubungan antara obesitas dengan kejadian osteoarthritis lutut pada lansia. Penelitian ini merupakan Scoping Review. Database yang digunakan PubMed, Springer Link, dan Science Direct. Artikel yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi dari jurnal full text, berbahasa inggris, kohort atau case control. Artikel yang sesuai dengan kriteria inklusi sebanyak 1.224 artikel dan yang termasuk kriteria ekslusi sebanyak 1.219 artikel. Setelah dilakukan telaah kritis, artikel yang lolos sebanyak 5 artikel. Hasil analisis 5 artikel, menyatakan bahwa terdapat hubungan obesitas dan osteoarthritis lutut, penderita osteoarthritis lutut memiliki BMI lebih tinggi, gambaran radiologi osteoarthiritis lutut menampakan gambar yang lebih bermakna pada penderita obesitas, dan obesitas berhubungan denga n tingkat keparahan osteoarthritis lutut yang dinilai melalui klasifikasi radiografi osteoarthristis Ahlbäck. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat hubungan antara obesitas dan kejadian osteoarthritis lutut pada lansia, sedangkan berat badan normal tidak berhubungan dengan osteoarthritis lutut pada lansia. Serta obesitas dapat memperburuk hasil radiografi dari osteoarthritis lutut pada lansia.
