This research explores the impact of the school principal's behavior on the success of educational institutions, with a focus on literacy at SMP Global Islamic Boarding School Karangan, Trenggalek, Indonesia. The competence and leadership style of the school principal has a significant influence on school progress. Literacy culture, seen as a form of cultivating critical attitudes in understanding information, is considered crucial for improving access to knowledge and technology. The research methodology used is qualitative, employing data collection techniques such as observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the school principal implements various strategies to enhance literacy in the school, including activities like book publishing, writing seminars, and promoting reading corners. Additionally, the principal pays special attention to numeracy literacy and digital literacy by involving training, problem-based learning, and the utilization of digital technology. These findings support Mayo's theory and underscore the importance of a humanistic approach in shaping literate attitudes through leadership factors, student and teacher behavior, and a conducive school climate.

This study aimed to: (1) describe emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, altruism, and teachers’ performance who teach in inclusion elementary schools of Karanganyar District, and (2) determine the effect of emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and altruism on teachers competence who teach in inclusion elementary school of Karanganyar District. The research was quantitative research using the ex-post facto method. The results of the study show that: (1) teacher’s emotional intelligence is at the medium category, while self-efficacy, altruism, and teachers competence who teach in inclusion elementary school of Karanganyar District are in high category; (2) there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence with the teacher’s competence, with a value of r = 0.560 (r > 0,244 ), there is a significant relationship between self-efficacy with teacher’s competence with a value of r =0.535 ( r > 0.244), there is a significant relationship between altruism with the teacher’s competence, with a value of r = 0.711 (r > 0.244 ) and there is a significant relationship between emotional intelligence, self-efficacy, and altruism with the teacher’s competence, with a value of F = 39.742 (F > 2.76). Therefore, it concluded that higher emotional intelligence, and altruism the higher the teacher’s competence.

Saat ini, dunia pendidikan memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam pembangunan bangsa, tetapi kualitas yang dimiliki pendidikan di Indonesia masih kurang memuaskan. Tantangan yang signifikan dapat terlihat padakualitas pendidikan yang masih kurang memadai di berbagai tingkat pendidikan.Peningkatan kualitas pendidikan ini dapat dicapai dengan berbagai aspek, salah satunya yaitu peran kepemimpinan dalam dunia pendidikan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi keterkaitan antara kepemimpinan berkualitas, instruksional, dan transformasional dengan pencapaian Standar Nasional Pendidikan (SNP) di lingkungan SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Populasi penelitian ini meliputi seluruh tenaga pendidik di SMK tersebut, dengan sampel penelitian terdiri dari 30 orang. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah dengan menggunakan kuesioner, sementara analisis data melibatkan analisis deskriptif, korelasi, dan regresi.Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh yaitu diantaranya terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan nilai korelasi sebesar 0,154 antara kepemimpinan berkualitas kepala sekolah dan pencapaian SNP, ditemukan hubungan positif yang lemah dengan nilai korelasi 0,132 antara kepemimpinan instruksional kepala sekolah dan pencapaian SNP, ditemuan hubungan positif yang cukup kuat dengan nilai korelasi 0,198 antara kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dan pencapaian SNP. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa terdapat hubungan simultan antara kepemimpinan mutu, instruksional, dan transformasional kepala sekolah dengan pencapaian SNP, dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,391. Temuan ini memberikan wawasan yang berharga mengenai pentingnya berbagai aspek kepemimpinan dalam meraih pencapaian SNP yang lebih baik di lingkungan SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Implikasi dari penelitian ini dapat membantu mengarahkan upaya pengembangan praktik kepemimpinan yang lebih efektif di institusi pendidikan serupa, serta memberikan panduan bagi peningkatan mutu pendidikan di sekolah-sekolah sejenis.
