How to Meet the Green Deal Objectives—Is It Possible to Obtain 100% RES at the Regional Level in the EU?

Abstract: The subject matter discussed in the article concerns the problem of the energy transformation of the European Union (EU) countries. In the case of the EU, the energy transformation has specific characteristics due to formal legal and institutional provisions. This means that the member states are obliged to implement the adopted Community Energy Strategy, which was defined under the European Green Deal. According to the EU policy, all member states are to have climate-neutral and zero-gas-emission economies by… Show more

“…In view of the above, the authors believe that it is worth strengthening or remodelling the dimension of educational undertakings in the RES area, taking into account the broad promotion of solutions applicable at the level of individual households, as this may improve the practical interest of investors in these solutions in the country, which has been pointed out among the determinants of consumers' investments in the RES sphere, articulating the need for research in this area [80]. The above conclusion coincides with the position noted in the literature about the need for changes in the formula of knowledge transfer [29,81] on the topic of RES potential [82] and its active promotion [83]. Hence, the creation of educational programmes dedicated to different social groups would be worth considering.…”

“…The information about the amount of produced energy was not available, therefore, in this study we refer only to theoretical potential of energy production (renewable energy capacity) based on the relation between installed power potential and average efficiency of each type of renewable energy installation in Polish conditions. Based on the literature review, the average efficiency was assumed as follows: • Biomass energy-87% (Igliński et al, 2015(Igliński et al, , 2022.…”

“…In accordance with the EU policy, all member states are obliged to reach climate-neutral and zero-carbon economies by the year 2050. The diversification of the used energy sources, with a predominance of renewable energy sources (RES) will be the basis of the future energy transition ( Igliński et al, 2022).…”
