How to make key 5G wireless technologies environmental friendly: A review

Abstract: Energy efficiency in cellular networks has increasingly become important to the cellular network operators due to its significant economic and ecological influence in the forthcoming generation of wireless networks, ie, the fifth-generation (5G) network. To pursue a vision of green communication, this study presents a comprehensive overview and discusses how the key physical layer techniques that will be adopted in the 5G technology can improve energy efficiency to achieve a sustainable wireless network. Among… Show more

“…The norm of the channel h 1 is estimated at the end of the iterative estimation process, to raise the ambiguity on the multiplicative factor, and complete the channel estimation process. The CZA computes a new estimate,ĥ (1) , of h 1 , using r (0) n and the received signals corresponding to data symbols as follows:…”

“…where (1) is a multiplicative factor that will be chosen later to simplify the expression and stabilize the underlying numerical calculation. Note that the choice of (1) has no effect on the channel estimation since the norm ofĥ (1) will be estimated at the end of the iterative algorithm. By replacing the expression of r (0) n in Equation (7), we obtain…”
