<p style="text-align: justify;">In the Indonesian context, English is considered a local subject and there is no mandated curriculum for English in elementary schools. Meanwhile, English has been a compulsory subject taught at the secondary school level. The present study aims to explore barriers to teaching English experienced by non-native English teachers in Indonesian secondary schools and policy recommendations. The study employed a qualitative case study method. Concerning the data collection, the authors garnered the data through semi-structured interviews with six non-native English teachers teaching at private and public secondary schools in Indonesia. The findings of the study reveal that several barriers experienced by non-native English teachers include lack of training in English teaching and learning, academic literacy among non-native English teachers, school facilities, English-relevant materials, student motivation, and English exposure outside of school. Drawing on these results, some policy recommendations to improve English language teaching in the Indonesian context are discussed in this study.</p>

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Internet of Things (IoT) integrated problem-based learning model on students' creative thinking abilities. This type of research is a meta-analysis research by evaluating the effect of the size of IoT-based problem-based learning models on students' creative thinking skills. Data search keywords are problem-based learning models; IoT-based problem-based learning model; and Students' creative thinking skills. Data collection techniques are through direct observation of journal databases and documentation. The eligibility criterion is that research comes from journals indexed by SINTA, Scopus and Web of Science; Research must be published in 2020-2024; Research obtained through mendeley database, google scholar, Researchgate; ERIC, and ScienceDirect, research related to the effectiveness of IoT-based problem-based learning models on students' creative thinking skills and research has complete data to calculate the value of effect size. Data analysis is a quantitative analysis by calculating the effect size value with the Microsoft Excel 2020 application. The results of the study concluded from 12 journals analyzed the application of the Internet of Things (IoT)-based problem-based learning model had a significant influence on students' creative thinking ability with an average value of effect size of 0.942 This finding provides important information for teachers, the application of the problem-based learning model exerts a high category of influence to improve creative thinking skills in the learning process.

Learning science is one of the ways that education works to improve the quality of human resources by enhancing personality and abilities. In this study, researchers adopted a specific quantitative methodology. The research instrument used a student learning responsibility questionnaire with 25 statements and observation sheets of students' scientific inquiry skills with 18 statements ranging from very bad to very good. 237 junior high school students from state schools on the east coast grade 7 were used as research samples selected using purposive sampling technique. Data from the research sample can be evaluated after it has been gathered. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used in the data analysis. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between learning responsibility and science process skills of junior high school students in suburban cities. There is a positive and unidirectional relationship between student responsibilities and students' science process skills in science subjects for junior high school students in suburban cities as indicated by the correlation between student learning responsibilities and science process skills, a correlation coefficient of 0.710 is obtained. Based on the results of the Follow-up Test, the average responsibility of the three junior high school students in suburban cities is significantly different from the significance value used, which is 0.05. The significance value obtained for the character of responsibility is 0.020 which is lower than the significance value used, which is 0.05. The researcher suggests that future scientists utilize research findings as a source of information to carry out additional research and close gaps in their knowledge.
