“…Furthermore, other studies have reported changes in technical aspects like the number of passes, dribbles, shots or interceptions [20,21]. SSGs appear to be an effective strategy for training technical and tactical skills in young players of team sports [22], and "the manipulation of task constraints seems to be an effective strategy for creating practice environments that facilitate the acquisition of tactical principles" [16] (p. 13). However, the requirements (technical, tactical, etc.)…”

“…Several systematic reviews have analysed the effects of modifying the above-mentioned variables or others like player's experience [15] on technical-tactical aspects [12,16] or physical fitness [10].…”

“…In NP, adaptive behaviors emerge from interacting of individual, environment and task constraints, highlighting the importance of an individualized practice (playercentered), even in team sports settings (Chow et al, 2016). Therefore, NP supports practitioners with principles to design structured and individualized practices through representative training tasks (i.e., exercises that seek to intentionally simulate competitive contexts that enable players to become attuned to key sources of information that guide their decisions and actions in training contexts) in an attempt to enhance learning in the context of soccer (Chow et al, 2016;Travassos, Duarte, Vilar, Davids, & Araújo, 2012) In soccer, Small-Sided and Conditioned Games (SSCG) are considered representative training tasks, since they are modified versions of the formal match, maintaining the key sources of information that support player decision-making and promoting similar collective behaviors to the formal match (Ometto et al, 2018;Pinder, Davids, Renshaw, & Araújo, 2011;Travassos, Duarte, et al, 2012). Evidence obtained in SSCG studies provides important information regarding how player and team performance is affected by the manipulation of key task constraints (Ometto et al, 2018;Serra-Olivares & Garcia-Rubio, 2017).…”

“…Despite the great advance in literature regarding the production of knowledge about JRCs, few studies have attempted to verify the effects of manipulating the amount of targets, even though it is a tool widely used by coaches. In a recent systematic review of constraints in small-sided and conditioned games, Ometto et al 10 found 24 studies where only five sought to analyze target manipulation in JRCs. The results found pointed to effects on tactical, technical and positional behavior of players.…”
