How “I” Shifts When Crossing Borders: Reflections of South Korean Artists Who Study Abroad in the United States

Abstract: This article investigates the distinct journeys of two cross-cultural South Korean artists who each received an MFA degree in the United States. The research examines challenges faced by cross-cultural students, correlating with previous literature on the subject. The analysis provides insights on the experiences of cross-cultural artists, highlighting the educational implications for both artists and art educators, encouraging them to approach students in a manner that fully embraces their abilities.
