Despite policy efforts to promote higher learning in Tanzania, reports show persistent student dissatisfaction, revealing the extant inadequate quality measurement models. The study examined the fundamental elements causing dissatisfaction using an extended SERVQUAL model with additional variables, perceived transparency mediated by trust. Researchers collected quantitative data from 398 third-year higher learning students. The structural equations modelling result shows that reliability, perceived transparency, and trust in an institution significantly predict satisfaction. Further, trust partially mediates the influence of perceived transparency on student satisfaction. Evidence from this study suggests that education policy geared to promote the expertise of service providers and punctuality of service offering, transparency in service offering, and social responsibility of service provision is adequate for student satisfaction. Future research can look into a cross-level of economic development, groups of students—analysis of satisfaction determinants, and test the transparency—trust-based SERVIQUAL Model in quality struggling sectors in Tanzania and other developing countries. Also, studies can test how satisfaction mediates the effect of quality on academic performance.

Operating room (OR) planning has gradually become an important element of Hospital administration in recent years. The OR performance plays a significant role in enhancing the quality of the care provided to the patients and reducing patients' length of stay (LOS), which is the function of the OR performance, decreasing costs. Following a survey of the existing research and conducted interviews with clinical and non-clinical OR staff, there are several factors influencing patients’ length of stay (LOS) in the OR and, consequently, the costs of the OR. In this work, first, we implemented the DEMATEL to define the relationship between OR factors, next, employed ANP to identify the most influential factors on the LOS in the OR. The results show the most influential factors are operative time, operative setup, patient waiting time, anesthesia, and patient preparation. Running two rooms concurrently and minimizing turnover time (TOT) reduce patients' LOS by 10% and 5.6%, respectively, and improve the patients' and clinical personnel's satisfaction. Reducing the LOS not only leads to reduced OR costs but also helps increase the number of operations and, thereby, hospitals' revenue.

This study explores the intricate dynamics of trust in human–robot interaction (HRI), particularly in the context of modern robotic systems enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI). By grounding our investigation in the principles of interpersonal trust, we identify and analyze both similarities and differences between trust in human–human interactions and human–robot scenarios. A key aspect of our research is the clear definition and characterization of trust in HRI, including the identification of factors influencing its development. Our empirical findings reveal that trust in HRI is not static but varies dynamically with the complexity of the tasks involved. Notably, we observe a stronger tendency to trust robots in tasks that are either very straightforward or highly complex. In contrast, for tasks of intermediate complexity, there is a noticeable decline in trust. This pattern of trust challenges conventional perceptions and emphasizes the need for nuanced understanding and design in HRI. Our study provides new insights into the nature of trust in HRI, highlighting its dynamic nature and the influence of task complexity, thereby offering a valuable reference for future research in the field.
