In recent years, with the flourishing of the catering economy and the trends in computer technology, restaurant operators have increasingly relied on employees with computational and information skills. Breaking through the traditional teaching method of mere lecturing, the study conducts a teaching demonstration by integrating the computational thinking concept and a Microsoft Excel computational system on the school’s E-learning platform into the teaching of a Culinary and Restaurant Management course. A non-equivalent control group pretest–posttest study with a quasi-experimental design is adopted for the assignment of experimental participants and the design of the course. The results show that a curriculum design with computational thinking significantly improves the effectiveness of students’ learning in digital technology and is especially helpful for the cultivation of the key capabilities of menu design and cost planning among restaurant management skills. The study makes the following contributions: during the Culinary and Restaurant Management course, the use of the E-learning platform and computing programs such as Microsoft Excel is associated with greater learning effectiveness than traditional teaching methods. The research results can serve as a reference for promoting an E-catering business model and a sustainable educational model in the future.

AbstrakStudi ini bertujuan untuk mengestimasi peran kinerja magang perguruan tinggi dalam mempengaruhi kepuasan industri keuangan syariah. Dengan memanfaatkan hasil wawancara terhadap 30 orang praktisi keuangan syariah, studi ini melakukan analisis kualitatif. Studi ini menemukan bahwa faktor ekspektasi dan diskonfirmasi berperan penting dalam meningkatkan kepuasan industri keuangan syariah. Secara akademik, studi ini mengimplikasikan perluasan pengetahuan tentang rekayasa kepuasan industri. Secara praktis, studi ini mengimplikasikan pentingnya link and match antara industri dan perguruan tinggi dalam tiga hal (keseragaman penilaian program magang, penciptaan MOU, dan kerjasama pengembangan kurikulum). Kata Kunci: Kinerja Magang Perguruan Tinggi, Teori Ekspektasi-Diskonfirmasi, Kepuasan, Industri Keuangan Syariah AbstractThis study aims to estimate the role of university internship performance in influencing satisfaction of the Islamic financial industry. By utilizing the results of interviews with 30 practitioners of Islamic finance, this study conducted a qualitative analysis. This study found that the factors of expectation and disconfirmation play an important role in increasing satisfaction of the Islamic financial industry. Academically, this study broadens engineering knowledge of industrial satisfaction towards internship program. Practically, this study implies the importance of links and matches between industry and universities in three ways (uniformity of internship performance scoring, MOU creation, and curriculum development cooperation). Using qualitative semistructured interviews, this study aims to analyse the satisfying and dissatisfying factors in a university–industry cooperation programme. Work experience, monetary benefit, HR policies, language and time are important factors determining the satisfaction and dissatisfaction of students towards a university–industry cooperation programme. Results help in evaluating and identifying the sustainability of a programme. Marketing practitioners can consider the results in designing corresponding marketing strategies, and HR managers and programme coordinators can formulate guidelines for future improvements of related programmes.
