How can a documentary presentation of HMC (historically marginalized community) post-graduate stories inspire other HMCs to consider applying to graduate school?

Abstract

the "co-op" intern programs allowing a fifth undergraduate year for students who could live and eat, and use facilities on campus instead of expensive apartments, produces world class programs and outcomes. I had no idea that in my second year in the program the Carnegia evaluators would name my doctoral program the No. 1 such program in the nation. Gratitude goes to the NU Graduate Student Educational Research Association (GSERA), where I have served as vice president under Dr. Mary McNamara who was a powerful supporter of my staying in school and finishing me studies. The NU Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion's Director Dr. Karl Reid reached out to not only encourage my research, but have his department underwrite funding for completion of the key research element of this research, the professional production of a full-length video documentary: The Road to Graduate School: The Bachelor's and Beyond.
