Households’ Perception and Environmentally Friendly Technology Adoption: Implications for Energy Efficiency

Abstract: Since employing environmentally friendly technologies (EFTs) is a complicated and difficult process that is affected by multiple factors, researchers are encouraged to explore those influence factors. This research aims to estimate the households’ perception factors affecting the adoption intentions of EFTs. Based on a questionnaire survey from 782 Pakistani households, a structural equation modeling strategy yields empirical results. The main findings are: firstly, the drivers of adoption intention of EFTs in… Show more

“…Within the study of green behavior, it has been noted that perceived behavioral control is an important factor which can explain this variable ( Mohiuddin et al, 2018 ; Fatima et al, 2022 ; Karimi and Mohammadimehr, 2022 ; Wu et al, 2022 ). Additionally, green behavior has been studied and discussed within scientific literature alongside psychographic and demographic elements ( Patel et al, 2017 ).…”

“…Agriculture is an important source of greenhouse gas emissions. China is the country with the highest agricultural carbon emissions in the world (Alvarado et al, 2021;Zhang et al, 2019;Zhang and Wang 2020;Fatima et al, 2022). Over the past 40 years of reform and opening up, China's grain production has achieved "eighteen consecutive harvests", which has made great contributions to world food security (Fahad et al, 2022b;Fahad et al, 2022c;Wang et al, 2020).…”

“…Işık et al (2021b) investigate the validity of the environmental Kuznets curve (henceforth, EKC) hypothesis for eight OECD countries. Fatima et al (2022) believe that the use of energy can be reduced by adopting environmentally friendly technologies. Ahmad et al (2021a) studied the long-term and short-term heterogeneous links among urban concentration, non-renewable energy use intensity, economic development, and environmental emission index at the regional development level of 31 provinces in China.…”
