Hostile UAV Detection and Neutralization Using a UAV System

Abstract: The technologies of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have seen extremely rapid development in recent years. UAV technologies are being developed much faster than the means of their legislation. There have been many means of UAV detection and neutralization proposed in recent research; nonetheless, all of them have serious disadvantages. The essential problems in the detection of UAVs is the small size of UAVs, weak radio wave reflection, weak radio signal, and sound emitting. The main problem of conventional UA… Show more

“…Thus, it is an electromagnetic system to detect and provide information about the location of materials that reflect electromagnetic signals [36]. Conventional radar is widely used in the aeronautical industry to detect aircraft and space equipment, in the marine field to detect ships, and in the field of geography for selection and detection of the area and climate [37].…”

“…In [67] a marine broadband FMCW radar operating at X-band was used for the detection of two different types of UAVs. Measurements were carried out to detect rotary wing and fixed wing UAVs using the marine radar at a distance of 400 m. Similarly, in [83], low-cost marine radar was used for the detection of UAVs. The marine radar was mounted on a UAV and provided 360 • coverage over a large area.…”

“…Using these models, the most important aspects of detection and estimation performance of C-UAS sensors and sensor networks can be simulated. Moreover, Rudys et al (2022) proposes the concept of the airborne counter-UAV platform with radar. Authors use a low-cost marine radar with a high resolution 2m wide antenna which is embedded into the wing and aircraft heading is changed to enable radar scanning.…”
