Hostile takeovers, culture, and firm performance: a sensemaking and sensegiving perspective

Abstract: Purpose Mergers and acquisitions (M&As) are common in today's corporate world, yet nearly half of them fail. Among such failed M&As, hostile takeovers cover a large proportion.
