Hospitals need specialist inpatient adolescent units

Abstract: Arecently published document on the care of young people in hospital (Viner and Keane, 1998) makes depressing reading as it highlights the lamentable situation of adolescent provision of care in British hospitals — only 8% of health authorities contain adolescent provider units in their hospitals.
