Hospital Staff Communication

Abstract

Hospital staff communication refers to the interaction among healthcare providers: nurses, doctors, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, and other specialists who share information and coordinate activities to ensure the safety and care of patients. Due to the importance of effective hospital staff communication, medical schools require communication skills training. This need has led to a robust subdiscipline of health communication, and interpersonal communication research in this area includes communication among nurses, communication between doctors, nurses, and other specialists, and communication within cross‐disciplinary medical teams.
