Hormones in the Treatment of Depression

Abstract: Several treatment strategies have been proposed for the management of depression in women. The occurrence of depression among females is often associated with periods of intense hormonal fluctuations, as observed in cases of premenstrual dysphoria, perinatal depression and with the development of depressive symptoms during the perimenopause.
