Abstract: Surge release of luteinizing hormone (Lh) from the pituitary is essential for fertility as it triggers ovulation. While secretoneurin (SN) is a phylogenetically conserved secretogranin-2 derived peptide that stimulates Lh, its role in ovulation has not been established.
