Hope and repair within the Western Skyline? Americana Music's rural heterotopia

Abstract: Set against a representation of much of rural America as an impoverished and socioeconomically abandoned space, reaching out in desperation to the populism of Donald Trump in the 2016 US Presidential elections, this paper seeks to probe more critically and carefully the everyday geographies (represented, practiced, lived) of this space.
