Homeopathic Medicine Improves the Motility and Vigor of Semen in Rams

Abstract: The semen of rams suffers during cryopreservation, and the sperm plasma membrane breaks down during the process, creating the deleterious effect of reducing their fertilization capacity. The homeopathic medicines Medicago sativa and Aloe vera were tested to evaluate membrane protection during cryopreservation in diluent media established for the species. Semen samples from five rams were frozen in two different diluents and analyzed after thirty days of freezing. The Glycine-Yolk-Milk diluent supplemented with… Show more

“…24 An in vitro study done on semen of rams to evaluate membrane protection during cryopreservation in diluent media supplemented with homoeopathic medicine showed decreased loss of sperm motility and vigour than control. 25 The five cases reported here as per HOM-CASE guidelines (Summary, ►Table 2) suggest that homoeopathic treatment can contribute to the successful management of male factor infertility. In Case 3, Pituitaria glandula 6X was prescribed along with constitutional medicine as the standard homoeopathic texts describe it to have a superior control over growth and development of sexual organs 26 and in this case, the sperm count and serum testosterone levels were low, progressive sperm motility was zero per cent and luteinising hormone levels were high.…”
