Home Management Research: State of the Art 1909–1984

Abstract: Research has had an important role in the growth of home management as a body of knowledge over the past 75 years. Gross, Crandall, and Knoll's concep tualization of home management's six stages of development was used as a framework for reviewing this research. Research on some topics has continued in importance over time even as later stages brought changing emphases in re search and other efforts.
