“…Drawing on this definition, we apply the concept to the context of SMEs with vulnerabilities facing environmental uncertainty. Given the way the concept is examined and understood in the literature (e.g., de Guzman et al 2012;Lee et al 2010), the acclimatisation process reflects a thorough and lasting change in a firm's key characteristics and structure with minimal resource input.
