Holographic Lenses in an Environment-Friendly Photopolymer

Abstract: Abstract:In this paper, we theoretically and experimentally evaluated the quality of volume phase transmission lenses stored in an environmentally friendly photopolymer. Holographic lenses (HLs) were obtained using symmetrical and asymmetrical experimental setups with the same positive and negative focal length and pupil diameter. The image quality was evaluated from the calculation of the modulation transfer function (MTF) by capturing the point spread function (PSF) with a charge-coupled device (CCD). A maxi… Show more

“…The main requirement for holographic solar concentrators is a combination of high diffraction efficiency with a wide range of angles of radiation incidence. In the literature are considered the processes of fabrication and properties of diffraction deflectors based on volume [22][23][24][25] or relief structures [26] and also focusing elements [27][28][29][30] as components of solar concentrators. In this section, we consider the properties of structures in Bayfol HX materials and acrylate compositions as applied to the problem of obtaining diffraction deflectors of holographic solar concentrators.…”

“…En ausencia de aberraciones, el valor máximo de la MTF (3) viene determinado por la difracción. La existencia de aberraciones produce un descenso de la curva MTF frente a la υ. Por consiguiente, el rendimiento de un sistema se puede obtener comparando la MTF experimental respecto a la MTF limitada por difracción cuando se tienen la λ y f⁄# (5).…”

“…This material, called Biophotopol, is low toxicity and has good recycling properties. It has been used to prepare transmission 1,2,3 and reflection gratings 4 , as well as holographic lenses 5 . Hologram gratings with high maximum diffraction efficiency DEmax are preferred, whereas also it is very important that gratings remain over time.…”
