Holographic bosonic technicolor

Abstract: We consider a technicolor model in which the expectation value of an additional, possibly composite, scalar field is responsible for the generation of fermion masses. We define the dynamics of the strongly coupled sector by constructing its holographic dual. Using the AdS/CFT correspondence, we study the S parameter and the phenomenology of the light technihadrons. We find that the S parameter is small over a significant region of the model's parameter space. The particle spectrum is distinctive and includes a… Show more

“…In phenomenological models of EWSB based on the AdS/CFT correspondence, it has been found that corrections to precision electroweak observables can be suppressed by adjusting available parameters [7,8,9,17]. There are even scenarios in which the S-parameter is negative [8], although there is some debate as to whether scenarios leading to negative S can be physically realized [7,23].…”

“…We can therefore hope that for some choice of U 0 the model will be consistent with precision electroweak constraints. Indeed, in phenomenological holographic technicolor models, additional parameters not present in QCD allow for corrections to precision electroweak observables that render them consistent with current bounds [7,8,9,17,18].…”

“…Such models have also been adapted to describe walking [248] technicolour [249,250] dynamics for electroweak symmetry breaking in [251][252][253][254][255]. It is worth remarking that very similar ideas to these models have inspired the field of Higgsless electroweak models [256,257] and their deconstructed [258,259] partners for example in [260].…”
