HNF4α and CDX2 Regulate Intestinal YAP1 Promoter Activity

Abstract: The Hippo pathway is important for tissue homeostasis, regulation of organ size andgrowth in most tissues. The co‐transcription factor yes‐associated protein 1 (YAP1) serves as a maindownstream effector of the Hippo pathway and its dysregulation increases cancer development andblocks colonic tissue repair. Nevertheless, little is known about the transcriptional regulation ofYAP1 in intestinal cells. The aim of this study to identify gene control regions in the YAP1 gene andtranscription factors important for i… Show more

“…To investigate the role of CDX2 in cell adhesion, the colon cancer cell line LS174T with inducible CDX2 was used. This cell line has previously been used to study the effect of CDX2 on intestinal transcriptional regulation [36][37][38]. Western blotting analysis of the LS174T wild type and LS174T with inducible CDX2 cells was performed to detect CDX2 levels.…”

“…Incidentally, it has been reported that YAP1 can negatively regulate HNF4α expression through ubiquitination and proteasomal degradation in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) cells ( Cai et al, 2017 ). It is interesting to note that CDX2 and HNF4α regulate YAP1 expression by interacting with its promoter ( Larsen et al, 2019 ).…”
