Abstract:When HLA-A, B and DR antigens in Caucasian patients with transitional cell carcinoma of the urinary bladder were compared with controls, no significant alterations in antigen frequencies were found.
“…We included only two groups in our analysis: Hispanic/Latino (n = 73) and white (non‐Hispanic/non‐Latino) (n = 146) recipients. HLA‐A, B, and DR phenotyping was performed using sera obtained from the NIH serum bank as previously described . The percentage of class I panel reactive antibodies (PRA) was measured by determining the patient serum reactivity against a panel of T cell‐enriched lymphocytes from the local patient/donor population.…”
Our single-center experience indicates that ECW can be performed in Hispanic renal transplant recipients, with patient and allograft outcomes comparable with those observed in WR.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
