HLA‐A*2634, a new allele identified by sequence‐based typing in the Korean population

Abstract: A new HLA-A*2634 allele differs from A*260101 by a change from C to T at the nucleotide 559 of exon 3, with a coding change R163W.

“…Here, we describe a new HLA‐A*24 variant allele, officially named HLA‐A*2475, that was found in a Korean individual who was genotyped as A*2475, A*330301, B*460101, B*400201, DRB1*0410 and DRB1*080302. For the sequence‐based typing, genomic DNA isolated from blood and HLA exons 2 and 3, including an adjacent intron, were polymerase chain reaction‐amplified using locus‐specific primers as previously described (3). The amplified products were subject to direct sequencing.…”

“…Here, we report a new HLA‐A*24 variant allele, officially named HLA‐A*2474, that was found in a Korean individual who had genotypes of A*24020101, A*2474, B*4001, B*400201, DRB1*080302 and DRB1*150101. For the DNA‐based typing, genomic DNA isolated from blood and HLA exons 2 and 3, including an adjacent intron, were amplified by polymerase chain reaction using locus‐specific primers, as previously described (3). The amplified products were subject to direct sequencing.…”
