Abstract:The study presents the history of asexuality a sequence of epochs conditioned by the control, regulation of non-normative practices and gender order. The author examines asexuality in the context of pathologization and normalization, which resemble the history of homo- and bisexuality. The result of the pathologization of asexuality was the construction of identity as a basis that deprives doctors of the right to pathologize it.
