“…Se encontraron 12 pacientes en quienes se pudo establecer el diagnóstico de PES estandarizado en base a los criterios de Lambie y cols 13 . Estos criterios incluyen: a) Score de Tarzi a la tomografía computada (TAC) de abdomen 14 que incluye aná-lisis de presencia o ausencia de calcificaciones peritoneales, engrosamiento peritoneal y de la pared intestinal, adherencias intestinales, loculaciones y dilatación del intestino; b) aspecto macroscópico de la encapsulación y su extensión intraabdominal; c) biopsia peritoneal compatible según criterios de Brown 15 , que incluye como los elementos más sugerentes de PES: aparición de FLC (fibroblast-like cells), denudación del mesotelio, calcificaciones, presencia de fibrina, histoquímica positiva a podoplanina; d) sintomatología compatible, que incluye desde paciente asintomático hasta clínica de obstrucción intestinal evidente; e) signos de inflamación, tales como suspensión de la técnica debido a peritonitis, peritonitis con cultivos negativos, ascitis sin recuento elevado de leucocitos e inflamación sistémica 13 . En todos los pacientes se analizaron características epidemiológicas generales: edad, sexo, etiología de la insuficiencia renal, tiempo de permanencia en diálisis peritoneal, número de peritonitis, características de permeabilidad del peritoneo al inicio de la terapia dialítica y al momento de desarrollar PES (determinada mediante test de equilibrio peritoneal), tipo de soluciones de glucosa utilizadas, tratamiento, y la evolución de los pacientes después del diagnóstico.…”
