“…Similar ultrastructural findings were observed in the only other cell line established from an ESS with demonstration of irregular microvilli, tight junctions and primary cilia (Fresia et al, 1992). It appears that a biphasic phenotype with mesenchymal and epithelial differentiation characteristics is not uncommon in ESS and reflects the potential of neoplastic endometrial stromal cells to differentiate into various cell types (Binder et al, 1991;Farhood and Abrams, 1991).
