Histoarchitectural study of mammary alveoli on lactation, involution and pregnant stage in Murrah buffalo

Abstract: Present experiment was conducted on sixty Murrah buffalo divided into three groups: lactating, involution stage/dry and pregnant stage (non-lactating early pregnant stage, non-lactating mid pregnant stage and non-lactating late pregnant stage). Most of the alveoli were spherical to oval elongated in shape. In lactating stage, only small and medium sized alveoli were present. In involuting stage due to degeneration and inactiveness only small alveoli were recorded. In non-lactating late pregnant stage most of t… Show more

“…According to Sharma et al (2022) [34] , in the Himachal Pradesh hills, anestrus cows had an overall concentration of AST of 81.41±3.70 (14.30-155.90) U/L. Chaurasia et al (2016) [35] reported that serum AST values in normal cyclic groups (85.093 U/L), repeat breeder (104.435 U/L), and anestrus (69.124 U/L) were recorded. Serum AST levels in repeat breeders were significantly (p<0.01) higher than those in the normal cyclic group and lower in the anestrus group.…”

“…In contrast, Kumar et al (2015) [37] found that the serum levels of AST in anestrus buffaloes (127.09±6.72) were significantly higher than those in estrus buffaloes (77.35±13. 35). Changes in the various serum enzymatic activities, which are a sign of the physiological activity of the tissues, could be the cause of this.…”

“…Reproductive disorders can lead to infertility in livestock, reduced productivity, and slow population growth, as well as an increased Calving Interval (CI), culminating in economic losses for farmers (Chaurasia et al 2010). Data from the Denpasar Veterinary Center in 2018 showed that the highest reproductive disorder cases in Bali ovarian hypofunction followed by persistent corpus luteum (32%), endometritis (5%), ovarian cysts (2%), silent heat (2%), uterine prolapse and repeat breeding (1%).…”
