“…The cytotoxicity of the synthesized kirenol derivatives against cultured RAW 264.7 macrophage cells was assessed using the CCK-8 assay. The RAW 264.7 cells were incubated with different concentrations (5,10,25,50, and 100 μM) of kirenol derivatives for 24 h. The results shown in Table 1S (see supporting information) confirmed that most of the derivatives had no adverse effects on the viability of RAW264.7 cells when supplied at concentrations below 100 μM. However, compounds 3 f, 6 f, 14, and 16 c significantly reduced cell viability at a concentration of 50 μM, while compound 16 b demonstrated significant reduction in cell viability at a concentration of 25 μM.…”

“…The medium was routinely changed every day. [25] The anti-inflammatory effects of kirenol derivatives were investigated in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced RAW 264.7 cells. 5 × 10 5 RAW264.7 cells were cultured in each well of a 96 well plate for 24 h. Tested compounds were dissolved at indicated concentrations (50, 25, 12.5, 6.25 and 3.125 μM/L) in DMSO, and then further diluted in DMEM, so that the final concentration of DMSO in the medium was 0.2 %.…”

“…Sea buckthorn leaf extract at a 5% concentration inhibited S. aureus , S. epidermidis , S. intermedius , and S. pyogenes growth by almost 50%. Sea buckthorn extract may reverse the detrimental effects of S. aureus on human keratinocytes by down-regulating various pro-inflammatory cytokines and apoptotic pathways, such as ILs, TNFs, transforming growth factors (TGFs), IFNs, fibroblast growth factors (FGFs), MAPKs, matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), and caspases and Wnts molecular pathways ( 81 ). Additionally, a study showed that 6 mg/mL of sea buckthorn berry and leaf extract significantly inhibits the growth of Methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) ( 82 ).…”

[1] The fruits, leaves, and seeds of H. rhamnoides were widely used. Among them, H. rhamnoides fruits contain many bioactive fractions, such as polysaccharides, flavonoids, organic acids, fatty acids, and polyphenols.…”
