“…The iHOT-12 results are furthermore indicative of acceptable results after surgery, with 2 in every 3 patients experiencing an improvement in terms of exceeding the MCID value. These results are consistent with those of a recent study by Beck et al 46 reporting positive outcomes for the adolescent patient after hip arthroscopy for FAIS. Furthermore, the International Hip Outcome Tool is a valuable tool for identifying substantial clinical benefit after hip arthroscopy for FAIS in young active patients.…”

“…16 Similarly, among adolescents (aged 11-21 years), at 5 years' follow-up, 88% of patients reached the MCID and there was a 2.4% reoperation rate. 17 Corroborating these outcomes with those of a United Statesebased statewide database, the lowest reoperation risk was achieved in surgeons with more than 518 career hip arthroscopy procedures (2.6% reoperation incidence at 5 years) 14 or more than 164 (5% at 2 years, 10% at 5 years, and 10% at 10 years) to 340 (2% at 2 years, 2% at 5 years, and 2% at 10 years) annual hip arthroscopy procedures. 18 Furthermore, the risk of complications and readmissions at 90 days was significantly lower for high-volume surgeons (readmission rates of 2.2% for <102 cases/year, 0.85% for 164-340 cases/year, and 0.58% for >340 cases/year).…”

“…At the present study upper limits of MCID values for HOS described at the literature, were chosen (23) . Beck et al (25) followed up their adolescent patients (13-21 years of age) for a minimum 5 years, and reported that %88 of their patients achieved MCID for HOS. Lower values were reported at the present study due to higher age group and/or probably due to choosing the upper limit for MCID values.…”
