Highly stable Ni/ZnO‐Al2O3 adsorbent promoted by TiO2 for reactive adsorption desulfurization

Abstract: The reactive adsorption desulfurization is an important and efficient technology for the ultra‐deep desulfurization of gasoline. The performance of an adsorbent is vital for the efficiency of the reactive adsorption desulfurization process. The formation of inert spinels is commonly recognized for the deactivation of adsorbents. In this work, TiO2 was incorporated in the Ni/ZnO‐Al2O3 adsorbent to inhibit the formation of the spinel phase. The TiO2 formed a stable protection layer on the surface of Al2O3, which… Show more

“…Metal oxides (Fe 3 O 4 , MnO, CuO and ZnO, etc.) are early adsorbent materials used for fuel desulfurization [40,[102][103][104]. They mainly produce metal-sulfur bonds or π complexation interactions between metals and sulfur atoms in sulfur compounds, so that sulfur is attached to the adsorbent to achieve the goal of reducing sulfur content [105][106][107].…”

“…As a wide band gap semiconductor material, ZnO is widely used in solar energy [37], catalysis [38,39], laser [40] and other research fields [41]. All-inorganic perovskite films modified by the ZnO with smooth surface and orientational order have been reported [37,40], which facilitates charge extraction and improve device efficiency.…”
