Highly sensitive detection of influenza virus with SERS aptasensor

Abstract: Highly sensitive and rapid technology of surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) was applied to create aptasensors for influenza virus detection. SERS achieves 10 6 −10 9 times signal amplification, yielding excellent sensitivity, whereas aptamers to hemagglutinin provide a specific recognition of the influenza virus. Aptamer RHA0385 was demonstrated to have essentially broad strain-specificity toward both recombinant hemagglutinins and the whole viruses. To achie… Show more

“…Until now, many papers concerning the preparation of aptamer-based biosensors have been published. These aptasensors were constructed using various methodologies, such as optical aptasensors (fluorescence-based optical aptasensors and colorimetric-based optical aptasensors), electrochemical aptasensors, chemiluminescent aptasensors, and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) aptasensors [ [95] , [96] , [97] , [98] , [99] ]. However, most of the principles of these aptasensors have some versatile or analogous elements.…”

“…Kukushkin's group conducted a sandwich SERS assay using two different aptamers with high sensitivity for HA 81 . After fixing the thiol-attached primary aptamer to Ag particles, the virus was bound to generate a Raman signal through a secondary aptamer bound to Cy3, resulting in 10 6 -10 9 -fold signal amplification.…”

“…Surface-enhanced Raman Scatter (SERS) technology was applied to flu virusdetection. SERS has 10 6 − 10 9 times signal amplification, which provides excellent sensitivity have precise influenza virus identification [143]. Reliable viral detection, sizing, and filtering is essential for biosensors, environmental monitoring, and quality control.…”
