Highly Reliable Multi-Service Provisioning using Sequential Prediction of Zone and PL&T of Nodes in Mobile Networks

Abstract: In this paper, a dynamic Position Location and Tracking (PL&T) method is proposed which uses an integrated "zone finding by predictive algorithm" and "Triangulation with dynamic reference positioning" for target nodes. The nodes can be used as references or targets at different instances of time to maintain accurate PL&T of each node in a wireless mobile network. Each node is equipped with an omnidirectional antenna. It is shown that while "zone prediction" is fairly accurate for finding the PL&T of a target n… Show more

“…In cluster based MANET, cluster head (CH) have many responsibilities such as to manage the resources of the cluster, to maintain the communication between two clusters, and etc. By applying DMMS on one of the graph theoretical routing protocols [12], we have discussed how DMMS can be used in controlling purpose to manage message overhead, to offer flexibility, and to provide resource efficiency. In graph theoretical routing [12], PL&T data is required to develop a snap shot for the cluster.…”

In graph theoretical routing [12], PL&T data is required to develop a snap shot for the cluster. By using user application of PL&T [11], reference nodes periodically find the PL&T data in terms of X-Y coordinates of all the nodes and sends those X_Y strings to the CH for developing a snap shot of the cluster.…”

“…Since repeated triangulation of the same target would be susceptible to errors as the limits of errors can increase the tracking inaccuracy, it is critical that both the reference nodes and the target nodes to be reinitialized with a known location data over time for continuous tracking. In this paper, the performance of integrated zone prediction and 2D triangulation is derived through real time simulation in a MANET cluster, where the wireless AWGN channels and AWGN plus Fading channels have been used [3]. The results are summarized.…”

“…By considering the major limitations of all the above methods, the integrated PL&T method [3] is developed that uses IP based triangulation based on zone prediction method where accuracies of less than a meter are required. In this method, nodes require re-initializing after repeated tracking at different instances of time to maintain the tracking error within the specified target.…”
