Highly Emissive Multipurpose Organoplatinum(II) Metallacycles with Contrasting Mechanoresponsive Features

Abstract: The development of supramolecular coordination complexes (SCCs) with a bright aggregate state or mechanical-stimuli-responsive luminescence is very significant and challenging. Herein, we report the synthesis of three different supramolecular platinum(II) metallacycles via coordination-driven self-assembly of a diplatinum(II) acceptor and organic donors with a triphenylamine, carbazole, or tetraphenylethylene moiety. The triphenylamine-modified SCC exhibits aggregation-induced emission enhancement (AIEE) but… Show more

“…The constructed aptamer biosensors for Hg 2+ detection include colorimetric sensors [3,20], fluorescence sensors [1,21,22], electrochemical sensors [12,23] and so on. Most of the biosensors have been combined with a variety of nanomaterials, such as nano-gold, nano-silver, nanowires, carbon nanotubes, graphene, quantum dots, fluorescent metal nanoclusters, and other materials [16,24,25], and the detection process is relatively cumbersome.…”

“…Over the years, a vast number of luminescent metallocyclophanes have been prepared, employing different transition metals 207 such as platinum, 208 palladium, 209 iridium, 210 gold, 211 silver, 212 ruthenium 213 and copper, 212 a amongst others. These luminescent metallacycles ( 84–88 ) can incorporate various fluorophores (Fig.…”

“…Phase conversion from the crystalline to the amorphous states is one of the most common transformations that occur as a result of mechano-responsive fluorescent compounds being subjected to a mechanical stimulus. [74][75][76][77] The said transformation contributed to MCL accompanied by structural variation of solvent exclusion, intermolecular interactions transformation, conformational fluctuations, and so on.…”
