Abstract:We experimentally demonstrate that the transmission of microwave electromagnetic fields through a bilayer metasurface (BMS) composed of thin conductive rods can abruptly change in a narrow frequency range. A theoretical analysis based on the coupled oscillator model is performed to reveal the physical mechanism behind the frequency-dependent properties of such a structure. Two conditions primarily facilitate the observed high dispersion in the BMS. The first one is the resonant interaction between the incident… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
