Highly conductive metal interconnects on three-dimensional objects fabricated with omnidirectional ink jet printing technology

Abstract: In this work, we demonstrate that highly conductive metal interconnects can be fabricated on the surface of three-dimensional objects using “omnidirectional ink jet” (OIJ) printing technology. OIJ printing technology makes it possible to perform ink jet printing in all directions by combining the motion of a 6-axis vertically articulated robot with precise positioning and a thermal drying process, which allows for the printing of stacked layers. By using OIJ technology, we were the first to successfully fabric… Show more

“…The greatest extensively used in biodiesel production are free lipases between the commercially available lipases from P. fluorescens (Lipase AsK, Amano), B. cepacia (Lipase PS, Amano), and T. lanuginosus (Lipase LA201 and Lipopan 50BG, Novozymes), and immobilized lipases from T. lanuginosus (Lipozyme TL IM, Novozymes) and R. miehei (Lipozyme RM IM, Novozymes) [ 651 , 652 ].…”

“…Because inkjet uses low-viscosity liquids (≈10 centipoise or 10 −2 Pa s), the printed films tend to be thin, less than a micrometer in thickness. The ink formulations can be tuned to incorporate electronic materials; for example, semiconductors [119][120][121] and conductive electrodes [122][123][124][125] have been deposited by inkjet to fabricate circuits [126,127] as demonstrated in Figure 3c. [35] In addition, structural materials such as epoxy binders are commonly used in inkjet to build up 3D structures layer by layer.…”

“…Ag nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized using oxalate-bridged silver amine complexes. [15,16] The typical particle sizes were 10 to 15 nm (d50). The AgNPs were dissolved in the mixture solvent of dodecane and 1-nonanol with 35 wt%.…”
