Highly accurate particulate matter detection assisted by an air heater based on a silver nanowire film

Abstract: Recently, many studies have been carried out to solve the particulate matter pollution problem. However, the detection accuracy for particulate matter in the atmosphere remains unsatisfactory due to the influence of the air relative humidity. Herein, we report a Ag nanowire film air heater to enhance the detection accuracy through internal heating. From air temperature and air relative humidity relationship analysis, it has been found that the Ag nanowire film air heater can form the most suitable air relative… Show more

“…AgNW coverage adjustment has been frequently and skillfully used to tune the heat-transfer coefficient between the film heater and the different environment in our previous work for thermal response control. 19,35,36 It is much easier by the spray coating in this work, as shown in Figure 1b. According to the percolation theory, 37,38 the film conductivity and surface density of AgNWs obey the rules below…”

“…Besides the discussed resistance and voltage, the key parameter of the heat-transfer coefficient ( h ) should be manipulated. AgNW coverage adjustment has been frequently and skillfully used to tune the heat-transfer coefficient between the film heater and the different environment in our previous work for thermal response control. ,, It is much easier by the spray coating in this work, as shown in Figure b. According to the percolation theory, , the film conductivity and surface density of AgNWs obey the rules below where σ is the film conductivity, R sh is the film sheet resistance, N is the surface density of AgNWs ( N C is the percolation threshold for N ), V is the volume of the coated AgNW ink ( V C is the percolation threshold for V ), and a is the spatial parameter.…”
