Higher Medical Education in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic: Problems and Their Solution, First Generalizations

Abstract

The article discusses the problems and difficulties that arise in the process of form-ing professional competencies of a future doctor in the context of a pandemic of a new coro-navirus infection. In the context of the pandemic, the educational process in clinical depart-ments has lost its main componentthe ability to develop practical skills at the patient's bedside, on an outpatient basis, and to consolidate the acquired knowledge when working with patients under the guidance of teachers. Among the problems can also be identified: the need to ensure the infectious safety of students and teachers; ensuring a high methodological level of widespread use of e-learning and distance learning technologies; the negative im-pact on the quality of training of lack of access to patients, insufficient objective assessment of knowledge and formed professional competencies of students in the absence of face-to-face communication with the teacher; difficulties in adapting to new information technolo-gies both on the part of students and teachers. Approaches to the organization of the educa-tional process with the transition to distance learning technologies are revealed; a wide range of tools for conducting classes using electronic educational technologies is described, as well as the experience of its application is analyzed.
