“…Larraine [9] gives data graphically, which convert to 12,100 J mol Ϫ1 and 64.4 J mol Ϫ1 K Ϫ1 , in excellent agreement. Calculating with the mixing parameters of Chuang et al [4] at 800 K and adding in their 4 magnetic correction at this temperature gives similar values 13,275 J mol Ϫ1 and 64.3 J mol Ϫ1 K Ϫ1 , well within reasonable error estimates.…”

“…Spreadsheet calculations for binary systems The enthalpy of the paramagnetic face-centered cubic phase at a particular temperature is given by an equation with four parameters: [9] The two standard enthalpies, H o Ni and H o Fe , are strongly temperature dependent, but the Redlich-Kister coefficients A and B can be used over a wide temperature range. However, for other solid phases in the Fe-Ni system, a cubic in X is not adequate to represent the concentration dependence of the ϩ B*X Ni *(1 Ϫ X Ni )*(Ϫ1 ϩ 2*X Ni )…”
