“…However, due to the rhombohedral structure of the LaAlO at room temperature and below, twin boundaries with slightly different orientations are easily formed. Consequently, there is a spatial variation of dielectric constant as large as 2% [13], [14]. These twin formations also prohibit the design and reproducibility of very precise circuits such as a multipole ultra-narrow bandpass filter.…”

“…It also has less cross talk than the microstrip line due to the existence of the top plane. An excellent example of the application of striplines can be found in the work reported by Lyons et al (1996), where the delay line was used for a chirp-response tapped filter. They used a pair of YBCO striplines to form a double spiral configuration and the chirp function was achieved by a series of λ/4 backward-wave couplers to realize the requested frequency dependent delay for different frequency components in the signal.…”

“…Several chirp filters were developed, and some compressive receivers employing such devices were reported. 8 Superconductive devices are four-port networks in which a pair of superconductive striplines separated by a variable distance are coupled by a cascade array of backward-wave couplers. In these devices, a portion of the energy propagating in the input line from the input port is transferred to a wave propagating to the other sense in the adjacent line, towards the output port.…”
