“…1200 °C) is critical to guiding the design for the advanced oxidation-resistant coatings, but has received only limited attention in previous literatures. It has been demonstrated by Ansari et al that a considerable ratio of spallation and fracture of TGO occurred after merely three to ten cycles (10 h/cycle) at 1200 °C for the fully dense and thick (~600 μm) NiCrAlY coating manufactured through a laser-aided process [17]. These results indicate that the oxidation and spallation resistance of NiCrAlY coating at 1200 °C could not perhaps meet the requirement of long-term service for gas-turbines or aerospace engines.…”

“…However, in the local area, some columnar dendrites are of disordered growth directions. This phenomenon of disordered dendrites has been found in the study of laser cladding of NiCrAlY coatings [ 27 , 28 ].…”

“…The NiCrAlY powder used in this study has the composition of Ni–22Cr–10Al–1Y. According to the Ni(Cr)‐Al pseudo binary phase diagram (Figure ) calculated in the literature of Ansari, this composition ratio is very close to the eutectic ratio of γ and β , so the shaped sample may contain eutectic microstructure. When the content of NiCrAlY is 60%, the Al element ratio reaches to 6%.…”
