High-speed video acquisition system applied to flow study

Abstract: This paper describes a high-speed video acquisition system designed for visualization in fluid mechanics. The need for a non conventional video system is shown. The architecture of a typical experiment of flow visualization is discussed along with the whole video acquisition system. The camera, built around the EEV CCD37 sensor, with a resolution of and a rate of 100 non-interlaced images per second, is then described in detail.
