High Sensitivity and Reproducibility of a Bismuth/Poly(bromocresol purple) Film Modified Glassy Carbon Electrode for Determination of Trace Amount of Cadmium by Differential Pulse Anodic Stripping Voltammetry

Abstract: This work described a novel type of bismuth/poly(bromocresol purple) film modified glassy carbon electrode (denoted as Bi/Poly(BCP)/GCE) for anodic stripping analysis of trace Cd 2 + . The Bi/Poly(BCP)/GCE was fabricated in situ by depositing simultaneously bismuth and cadmium by reduction at À1.20 V on the poly(BCP) film using a differential pulse voltammetry. Under the optimum conditions, the anodic stripping peak current response increased linearly with the Cd 2 + concentrations in a range of 2.0 10 À8 -1.0… Show more

“…[54][55][56] The development of new glassy carbon electrodes also deserves mention. [57][58][59][60] Other interesting studies include the hyperpolarizabilities of these dyes and also the possibility to serve as starting point for the development of new dyes. [61,62] Phenol Red (1) has no substituents and is therefore ideally suited to form the start of our discussion.…”

“…1B, inset), and linear relationship between the peak current and the square root of the scan rate was evident. This demonstrated that the transmission of electrons in the polymerized film was a function of diffusion, which effectively was the controlling step at the electrode [6,9].…”

“…Such electrodes have high selectivity, sensitivity, and homogeneity in electrochemical deposition, and strong polymer adherence, as well as chemical stability of the film [6][7][8][9]. Electro-deposition of nano-particles on electrode Compared with the comparatively costly carbon nanotubes (CNTs), graphene's performance with regard to, e.g.…”
