High Resolution Spectroscopy of Cold, Trapped Atoms

Abstract: Pump-probe spectroscopy of cold, trapped atoms is discussed with particular attention to mechanisms specific for cold atoms and potential diagnostics applications. The discussion is illustrated with experimental results obtained with 85 Rb atoms trapped in a magneto-optical trap. Most important applications are non-destructive, real-time velocimetry (thermometry) and analysis of optical lattice dynamics.

“…Benzenesulfonamide derivatives are well known in the biological sciences for their antibacterial, anticancer and anti-HIV activities (Brzozowski, 1996;Stawinski, 1997;Alovero et al, 2001). In the field of catalysis, their chloro derivatives are particularly important for carrying out a large number of oxidation reactions wherein the reaction kinetics are very important (Shashikala & Rangappa, 2002;Puttaswamy, 2001).…”

“…In this work, we report a simple and convenient method for the synthesis of 6,8‐dihydroimidazo[1,2‐a] [1,3,5] triazines under microwave irradiation conditions. The 6,8‐dihydroimidazo[1,2‐a] [1,3,5] triazine system is a core structure element in a number of molecules with potential application as antitumor, antibacterial, and antiparasitic agents, and as herbicide antagonists [5–21].…”
