“…The Cenomanian/Turonian turnover seems to be closely related to paleoclimatic, paleogeographic, and paleoecological variations linked with the opening of the South Atlantic Ocean, which occurred during the mid-Cretaceous (Aptian-Turonian; e.g., Schlanger & Jenkyns, 1976;Arthur et al, 1987;Elder, 1987;Hut et al, 1987;Jenkyns, 2010;Pol & Leardi, 2015;Petrizzo et al, 2021).
